Jack - Mini Framed Cyanotype

Mini Original Cyanotype in a double glass metal hinged frame.

Dimensions;
Original cyanotype, approx. 12.5cm x 17.5cm on watercolour paper.
The Frame is 13cm x 18cm (5x 7inches) and approx 28cm high with the string hanger. Height of frame, including metal hinge and clasp is approx 18.5cm.

This beautiful double glass rustic black metal frame is a lovely finish to this original mini cyanotype of the Jacaranda tree leaf.

All of my work is original and one of a kind and are handmade in Adelaide, South Australia.

Cyanotypes are beautiful because of their variations. They are perfectly imperfect. The bold and clear lines are engaging while the shadows adds depth. Sometimes you can see a brush mark and the shade of blue may vary on the print itself. It is all apart of the print process and not considered a defect.

They are made by coating paper with a sensitizing solution and placed in the sun to yield exposure. I use real objects such as local flora to create contrast and a lot of time, thought, love and care is given throughout the entire process.

The frames are full of character and each vary in their own way. Some frames have glimpses of gold shining through and some frames have slightly mis-matched corners. I choose only the best frames and these differences are not considered a defect.

I photograph each art work as accurately as possible, however the colour may vary due to the computer monitor settings.
